Well, here I am. And I have no idea what to say. Typical really since I'm not a big talker, but I decided to do the blogging thing just to see what all the fuss is about.
So I went onto some blogs just to see what other people do and found myself reading blogs for hours, looking into other people's lives, learning what they dream and do every day. And I realised that as a whole people aren't all that different. Sure we like different things, have different personalities, subscribe to different ideas. But deep down we all want the same thing: a life full of possibilities. We want to know that we have a future in front of us that promise bigger and better things, and no matter how many times we say "appreciate the small things", we look forward to the big life changing events.
For instance: I appreciate the laughter of my sister's children, but I long to have children of my own. I appreciate the fact that I have food on the table and a roof over my head, but I want a job that I love doing, instead of one I do for survival.
My best friend told me that we have too many expectations, that we need to stop expecting things, and start living in the moment. Easier said than done, but all in all good advice. Whether I can stick to it is another matter, and one for later discussion.
Untill then, I wait for the next big life changing event.
